I'm SO stuffed!

So I just had a "Green Smoothie" and I am bustin a gut! It consisted of one apple, 8oz of crushed pineapple, shredded cabbage, carrots, cucumber, cilantro, parsley, arugula, sweet peppers, and sunflower seeds. Hmmm, I may have left something out?

I've been on a health quest since 1975. Back then I cut out all processed foods and anything fried, and that had artificial ingredients. I've been extremely healthy up until 2 summers ago. My seasonal allergies were horrible. I took Claritin for a while, but that stopped working and nothing else I took helped. I discovered the blood type diet and started that. Had to cut out all wheat and dairy. The following summer, I never had to take one allergy pill! It was the wheat and dairy that was posing all the problems. I'm still staying away from wheat and dairy but I'll sneak a little in once in a while. You can get wheat free products but they're way too expensive.

Then about a month ago I saw "Crazy Sexy Cancer" on TLC in which Kris discovered alternate ways to fight her cancer. Keeping your body more alkaline than acid seems to be the secret to keep all disease away! The way to do this is to eat lots of vegetables mostly. And eating them raw is optimal. Well, I just don't want to spend all day in the kitchen preparing tasty veggie meals, so I discovered "Green Smoothies."

I've read the smoothies should be 60% fruit and 40% veggies, but I just throw what looks right into the blender. The concoction I made tonight made two beer glassfuls; I should have given one to the hubby. Yeah, he was at the gym, so I drank them both.

The week before I bought a new juicer and juiced the veggies and fruit, but that wastes so much! Figures I didn't find out about the smoothies until afterwards. That's okay, I'm sure someone will buy the juicer.
